School Announcements
New 'Child Work Permit' Process
In the past, local school officials have issued Iowa Child Labor Work permits.  Effective June 1, school administrators will no longer be issuing Work Permits.  Youth, parents and employers will now complete a simplified form.  The form and instructions are available on the Division of Labor website at www.iowaworkforce.org/labor/childlabor.htm.  Questions can be directed to iachildlabor@iwd.iowa.gov.
 
Any Work Permit applications that have already been submitted to the school will continue to be processed.

2nd Semester Exam Information and Schedule
At the end of 2nd semester, all Southview students will experience an altered schedule in order to accommodate for the administration of semester exams.  Second semester exams will take place on May 22, 26, and 27Please click here to read the Parent Letter and to view the Semester Exam Schedule.





Southview Yearbooks for Sale
Don't miss out!  Order your yearbook now to guarantee a lifetime of memories!  Go to Jostens.com and purchase your 2015 yearbook for only $30.  The deadline to purchase your 2015 yearbooks is Tuesday, May 26th!

Yearbooks will be distributed at schedule pick up days in the fall. Freshmen next year can get their yearbook at Southview Schedule Pick Up and Sophomores next year can get their yearbook at AHS schedule pick up.



Nurse Notes Medication Pick up
In preparation for the closing of the school year, we need to make arrangements for the safe return of any medication you sent to school for your student. You may come to the health office before the last day of school to pick up any remaining medication, or the school will dispose of any remaining medication on the last day of school. Northview and Southview 9th Graders Receive Presidential Award for Academic Excellence
Northview and Southview Middle Schools awarded ninth-grade students with the Presidential Award for Academic Excellence. Northview held a ceremony for their award winners on April 22, Southview held a similar ceremony on April 23. Click here to read more about Ankeny's Presidential Award Winners. 
Rick Nelson to be named AHS head football coach -
Pending approval by the Ankeny Board of Education on May 4, Mr. Rick Nelson will be named as the new varsity head football coach for Ankeny High School (AHS). Nelson is currently the offensive line coach for the University of Northern Iowa (UNI) Panthers football team in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Ankeny Schools selected Nelson from a strong pool of nearly 20 outstanding candidates.  Read more about the new AHS football coach here.

School surplus items auction now open; visit K-Bid to bid -
Ankeny Community Schools is now holding a district inventory surplus sale online, including portable classrooms, vehicles and weight equipment.
